HEIFETZ, JASCHA. (1901-1987). Russian-born, American violinist. SP. (“Jascha”). 1p. 4to. N.p., N.d. To “Sophie.” A magnificent and youthful soft focus sepia bust portrait taken in profile. Heifetz began his musical lessons at age three and was performing outside his native Russia by eleven. On October 27, 1917, having fled the Russian Revolution by way of Serbia, he made his memorable American debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Heifetz is celebrated for his conscientious musical interpretation, as well as his flawless technical and tonal abilities. Darkly inscribed “with my love” across the lower portion. Slight damage on the left side, expertly repaired, and not affecting the inscription. Framed and in fine condition.
